Maurits introduces himself

My name is Maurits, I’m 33 years old, and I’ve been a hiking and mountain bike guide in Königsleiten since 2021. In the Netherlands, I work as a PE teacher at a school. I’ve been a ski instructor in Königsleiten during the winter since 2012, and I’ve also worked in Australia, New Zealand and Spain during the summer.
I’m really looking forward to the upcoming summer season and to lots of varied hikes and cycle tours with you all!

The Zittauer Hut in the Wildgerlos Valley is an alpine base in this paradise for hikers and mountaineers, situated in the westernmost part of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

The Zittauer Hut is easily accessible to walkers and mountaineers. The hut’s idyllic location on the lower Wildgerlossee, at the foot of the Reichenspitz group, is unique – as is the view from the sun terrace over the rugged glacial landscape of the Wildgerlossee.
